| Q: Which factors determine
if I can have BBUK Broadband? |
|
| A: There are a number
of factors that determine whether you will be
able to have BBUK Broadband. Your local exchange
will have to have been upgraded by BT to provide
BBUK Broadband services. You will have to be within
5.5km of this serving exchange and your line will
have to pass a line test, which includes checking
for any incompatible products. |

|
| Q: What options are
available to me if I can't have BBUK Broadband? |
|
A: Dial-up services
are available from other other suppliers. These
include access over a standard analogue (PSTN)
line via a modem and ISDN-based services. BBUK
now only provide Broadband Services.
We recommend adding a domain name to your email,
which will be totally transferable in the future
and also give you multiple email addresses, ie,
john@yourfamilyname.co.uk, anne@yourfamilyname.co.uk.
We supply this service if you require it. |

|
| Q: Can I convert my
ISDN/BT Highway to BBUK Broadband? |
|
| A: Yes, you can. We
can organise the whole process for you, an engineer
will convert your line to analogue, then we'll
do a line test to see if it can support BBUK Broadband.
If it can't, we'll convert you straight back to
ISDN/Home Highway at no charge. There may be a
conversion charge for this service. |

|
| Q: What is the difference
between BBUK Broadband and a leased line? |
|
| A: A leased line is
a symmetric dedicated service (the same upstream
and downstream bandwidth) creating a permanent
connection between your premises and a fixed point.
It is uncontended. |
