Ordering BBUK Broadband
Q: How are the modem and microfilters delivered?
Q: Does it matter if I install my ADSL modem and plug microfilters in before my BBUK Broadband service is activated?
Q: Does it matter if my BBUK Broadband service is activated before I have plugged microfilters into my telephone sockets?
Q: What is the CVC2 number on my card?
Q: Why is the total amount that is charged to my credit/debit card calculated as a penny or two more than the sum of the items ordered?

Q: How are the modem and microfilters delivered?
A: The broadband modem pack is delivered by Parcelforce and requires a signature when it arrives (you can tell us which address you'd like the pack delivered to when you order). The BBUK Broadband modem pack is sent out to arrive the day prior to your line being activated.

Q: Does it matter if I install my ADSL modem and plug microfilters in before my BBUK Broadband service is activated?
A: No, the microfilters are only required when you are using the BBUK Broadband connection and make or receive a standard telephone call (which could be a voice or fax call). It is then that the ADSL and voice signals might interfere with each other (unless you have microfilters splitting the two). Therefore you can plug in microfilters and even install your ADSL modem onto your computer before the BBUK Broadband service is activated and nothing will change.

Q: Does it matter if my BBUK Broadband service is activated before I have plugged microfilters into my telephone sockets?
A: No, the microfilters are only required when you are using the BBUK Broadband connection and make or receive a standard telephone call (which could be a voice or fax call). It is then that the ADSL and voice signals might interfere with each other (unless you have microfilters splitting the two). As long as you do not use the BBUK Broadband service and attempt to make/receive a telephone call at the same time, you will not notice any problems.

Q: What is the CVC2 number on my card?
A: The CVC2 number on your credit/debit card is the three digit number printed on the signature strip and is often referred to as the card security number.

Q: Why is the total amount that is charged to my credit/debit card calculated as a penny or two more than the sum of the items ordered?
A: Prices quoted on the BBUK Broadband order process are calculated including VAT for each item. When items are ordered the calculation adds the prices of each item excluding VAT and applies VAT to the total. In some circumstances this may make the total cost fluctuate by a penny more or less.
